When you feel grounded, your life flows in a whole different way. You find there are fewer obstacles to overcome or you are able to handle them in a calm and efficient manner, rather than getting all het up. When you feel you are in control of your life, it simply flows with a natural rhythm. You feel positive in your life. As a result, very little becomes a big issue, problems are resolvable, and things flow your way effortlessly. And your life is fun with more energy to expend on the things you love and want to do.
You are able to create the life you want and it comes easily to you. Yes, you will have off days. However, they don’t seem insurmountable. You take them in your stride knowing this too will pass and tomorrow is another day. There is not the same need to micromanage everyone and everything around you. When you need to be in such control it is exhausting and restrictive. You lose sight of having fun and being spontaneous. Your lives have become too structured and to do lists dictate your lives. Those unexpected magic moments pass you by: an unexpected encounter, a smile, watching a beautiful sunset, spending invaluable time with loved ones, or doing something completely out of the ordinary to break your routine.
how to become grounded
There are so many different ways to ground yourself. Here are a few that I love doing:
- walking in nature
- wriggling my toes in the sand
- jumping in puddles
- eating well
- having a good night’s sleep
- weight bearing exercise
- meditating (here are two guided meditations: grounding and body scan)
- get into the garden
- be creative
- take a shower or lovely warm bath
Add your own to this list as you have to enjoy whatever you do to make you feel grounded. Finally, why wait? Get started now and watch your life transform.
