How meditation captures dreams

‘I have a dream’

And you are only one decision away from a very different life. However, that decision can seem so far away and not doable.

Meditation captures dreams

I believe we all have a dream and a desire to make a difference in this world, no matter how large or how small. Whether it is in a business sense or a personal one. However, I truly believe from my own experience and those of my clients, a lot of us hold ourselves back from realising our dreams and being all we want to be. We are all artists in some way or other. We just have not yet tapped into that side of ourselves, of who we really are and sharing our potential with the world.

I always thought I had to be an artist of some sort to be creative. As the years have passed and being in business, I have come to realise that there are so many ways to be creative. How you dress, how you create and present your food, how you decorate your home, how you wear colour, wear your makeup, and so it goes on. Basically, it is creating something from nothing. We all start with a blank page, so to speak, and a framework to work within. Whether you work within that framework or go outside of it depends on your level of confidence and freedom.

what holds your back

It took me time to work out how I was holding myself back, what my thoughts and perceptions of myself were from realising the creative life I wanted to have. It was frustrating at times as I could not seem to move past certain points. I felt trapped and stuck as I had this desire to be creative and I couldn’t bring myself to step out of my comfort zone and just do it. In fact, this was contributing to a constant malaise I was feeling. I never felt quite right, in my element or on track in my life. Life felt discordant.

One of the things that helped was meditation. Introducing this practice into my life has been life-changing, to say the least. When you can sit quietly and sort through your thoughts, stories, self-perception, lack of confidence, lack of self-believe, you begin to connect to your creativity, to trust and listen to your intuition and to be able to have more meaningful and creative experiences. Meaning being able to capture what is going on within stopping you from fulfiling your dreams.

Most of us shudder when we think of being creative. You shrink away, shrivel up and basically, run for the hills. Take a moment and listen to yourself: Oh, yeah, right, I am not the creative type. Never have been. Never will be. I wouldn’t even know where to start. That blank page, no matter how small, looks daunting and frightening. I hear you. If you don’t believe in yourself and that you have something to offer, how can you design and create the life you want?

However, when you connect to YourSelf you begin to get a sense of who you are. It takes time to let go, to accept the past and things you can’t change. You begin to understand who you are, why, and what you can do about it. It gives you a chance to see what you need to let go of to be who you want to be. Slowly you begin to connect to your true self as you step away from your past and its hold on you. And to allow your dreams to be captured. Freedom!

When you begin to love and accept yourself, you become confident in who you are and open to being creative. You no longer hold yourself back. When you are plagued by self-doubt you never feel good enough. You are constantly second-guessing yourself and you allow others to sway you. Their view is far more important than your own, rather than trusting yourself and stepping out, even if you feel a fool and make mistakes. Let’s face it we all do. But we protect ourselves too much as it makes us feel so uncomfortable and ashamed.

Here is a thought. Step into self-trust and see what happens. Life takes on a natural flow. And you begin to achieve what you want in all areas of your life, including being creative and fulfilling a dream. You trust your gut and act on it. And above all,  your gorgeous self shines brightly.

meditation helped me capture my dream

It has been more than a decade in the making. I want to affect people in such a way that they begin to lead their lives as I have: full of joy, love, compassion, kindness, fun, confidence, and vulnerability. And the reality is that you will never feel these all the time. However, you bring the negative into balance or harmony with the positive. And you live your life from this point of view.

So I created my natural skincare range, Franc Essential, from a seed of an idea to start a revolution of changing your perception of your own beauty. I built it from ‘nothing’ into what it is today. I kept going, even when I had my doubts and got lost in self-crimination because I had this strong belief (and my own experience) that she who feels beautiful feels free. This is a great stepping stone to begin to create the life you want to have. From that evolved Unfold Your Freedom. It was a natural progression. Because when you feel beautiful on the inside you shine and also feel free to be creatively you.

Once you have the dream that is when you have to trust the how will come. Now, I don’t know about you, however, I am visual. I need to see what I am doing and to understand why. So for me to trust the process of not knowing how and allowing it to evolve was a major challenge. That is where meditation came in.

You don’t have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step.

I am sharing this with you as I launch my inaugural Unfold Your Meditation online course.  It started with a seed of an idea (a big white blank page) and developed from there. It took courage, trust, belief, and passion to get it to this point. There were times where I got lost in all the learning, how to fill the blank page, and how to bring it all together with technology. I had to let go of perfection which was undermining my progress at times. It takes strength of character to keep going when you feel it is all falling apart and all you can see is the mountain in front of you with no way around it.

Meditating kept bringing me back to my core, to my centre, and to my why. I kept working through the stories, the limiting beliefs, the fears and the wailing that I can’t do this. And, here it is. Something from nothing. Something I am proud to be offering you. I finally have a visual of my dream and something tangible. And I have to say it took on its own life. How it is now, isn’t how it started. And you need to start from somewhere. Get a brush stroke on paper, a stitch on the needle, creating amateur photos. Anything, because it is in the learning and doing that you get the courage to forge forward to grow, expand and create something amazing. You grow as you idea grows. And vice versa, your idea grows as you do.

It is in the learning and doing that you get the courage to forge forward to grow and expand. You grow as you idea grows. And vice versa, your idea grows as you do.

And this is only the beginning. I now have a foundation to build on to bring you even more. Don’t let yourself stop yourself. Keep coming back to your why. That is what will keep you going. Mine is that I want nothing more than for you to find your own creativity and Self to step out into the world and make a difference in whichever way you want.
