If you never ask you will never know. If you never try you will never know. What stops you from asking and receiving?

asking and receiving

What is it that you have been brought up give and to never receive? I had to learn this over the years that it is OK to ask for help and to receive it because I am worth it and people love me. It is not a sign of weakness and of dependence. It is a sign of strength, vulnerability and ability to say: hey I need help. Can you give it to me? And to accept whatever reply you are given.

You are also often scared of the response as it may be a ‘no’ feeling like a rejection and that you are not worthy enough. Rubbish. And you need to let go of this fast. You need to realise that the ‘no’ is because the person is perhaps unable to do it at the time or for a myriad of reasons that are not personal at all. Yet, due to your lack of self-love and this constant need to give, you turn it back on yourselves.

I found this out just recently when my elderly mother had an unexpected turn with chest pains and I was also not well with bronchitis and laryngitis. She was taken to hospital and I was not sure how I would cope and if I would be allowed in due to infection concerns.

feeling needy to ask

At first, I was not going to ask for light and love from my friends on Facebook as I felt needy, selfish and would anyone respond. Well, needless to say, the response was amazing. I felt embraced, loved and supported by all these amazing friends from around the world. I did not feel alone and isolated. It was wonderful.

Then I came home to my partner having prepared dinner with a glass of chilled wine for me which was the icing on the cake after a long and intense day.

I am sure all this love and light contributed to the day flowing so well. So many wonderful things happened at the hospital and upon my mother’s return to her home at Berrington Care Group. The staff had opened all the windows, aired the room and cleansed the energies and were waiting for us with smiles. What a way to end the day.

you are worth giving to

So what I am saying here is that it is so worth learning how to receive and not to just give. It is heart-warming, loving, kind, supportive and it makes all concerned feel important and part of your journey.

The question is would you do it for others?  Yes, of course, you would. So allow it to be done for you and enjoy the warm fuzzy that you will feel. Take the courage and give it a go. I sure did and I will again and again. Well worth it!
