Doing an evening meditation is a lovely way of ending your day and letting go of whatever has happened. It gives you the time and space to quieten your active mind and to scan your body for any left-over tension you may be carrying. No matter what the tension is positive or negative it is important to let it go. Sometimes this is just not possible, so just be with what is. I know if I am overly excited, I am unable to truly quieten my mind. However, just being with it helps me to calm down and just be with it.
how to prepare for your meditation
Before you start this meditation, make sure you are in a place where you will not be disturbed, you are feeling comfortable with no distractions around you, you are either lying on the floor or bed, arms by your side, fingers curling up naturally, feet out and floppy. If you are sitting, make sure your spine is straight, legs are uncrossed, hands cupped softly in your lap or on your knees. Your face is soft, eyes and mouth gently closed and your shoulders are away from your ears.
