It is amazing what is happening right now with this Buying Time Breast Cancer Care fundraiser I am part of.

the power of a helping hand

It is just opening all sorts of doors for support to be created for those in financial and psychological distress and need. And I have realised this is bigger than just this campaign. It is about us coming back to our Sacred Feminine and helping each other out, as they did in villages, as a tribe and capturing the sense of community.

Looking back now over the last few years when I was in distress, I did not know how to reach out, to whom and where. I had a few very close people I could reach out to hold my hand, however, it was far and few between. Or so I thought. In fact, I did not know how to.

being too busy

I had been so busy giving, that I did not know how to receive. So, I did not. And of course, no one offered as they did not know that I needed help big time. And if they did, I initially declined. As Brene Brown stated in an interview with Oprah: ‘ We are all afraid. We just have to get to the point where we understand it does not mean we cannot also be brave.’

Be brave to ask.

I was afraid of being me – in great need and feeling lonely and isolated. It takes such discipline and will power to not let fear overtake you. However, when you are in it, it is hard for it not to completely consume you to the point of immobilization.

And if you do not know where to look, you just don’t. This information is just not easily available or it is not given to you by professionals or it is simply not there. Also, I found we do not talk about it or know how to talk about it or how to approach someone about it. ‘It’ being the crisis.

We have lost our way with urban sprawl, being able to move around the world and connecting on the net. There is a loss of community spirit as we are so busy doing and getting ourselves out there in the world. As a consequence, we have lost sight of the nurturing aspects of ourselves, intuition and feeling.

asking creates a balance between masculine and feminine energy

Slowly we are coming back to this to create the balance again between masculine energy (power, authority, control) and feminine (nurturing, intuition, feelings). And for me this is what this campaign is all about: coming back to the Sacred Feminine, supporting each other to support those in crisis because we can and are able to. It is all about allowing others to help you, too. If you only give, you block yourself from receiving again creating an imbalance between the feminine (receiving) and the masculine (giving).

It is coming back home to the softness, gentleness, and loving natures that we are in this world. It is creating a dance – a dance of support, connection, love, help, joy, kindness – and movement that each and every one of us can tap into in our own way. We are all given the chance to shine brightly creating this most magnificent piece of art which is vibrant, colourful, full of love and joy in its co-creation and collaboration.
