We hear it all the time. Be present. Be mindful in all that you do in your life. And we think we are. I know I certainly did. Until I took the time to have a good look at myself. In fact, something dramatic had to happen as I wasn’t listening to my gut and all the signs that were being given to me. This happened not once but twice. The first time I ended up in hospital with a complete breakdown. The second up in Bali with my sarong and kindle.
It’s so important to be present in your life
And here are 7 good reasons why. You will have, make and feel:
peace and calm in your life
control of your thoughts and mind to have clearer head space and reduce the level of noise
more time to have more fun and laughter
a better relationship with self and others with trust and respect
considered and responsible decisions
more confident to be more productive
By being more productive you become more efficient and get more done
When you are in this state of calm and peace, you are able to take time to listen to people, to hear them and to make them feel important which strengthens friendships and relationships, whether they are personal, business or random encounters. The other person feels heard which in turn creates trust and respect.
When you are not rushing around in a state of stress and anxiety because you have too many things on your mind to do, have misplaced something or cannot remember what you were meant to be doing next, you feel powerful and in control of your life. Your self-confidence rises, you are productive and creative, and life flows beautifully and is manageable. You also know that if you are able to handle anything that is thrown in your way unexpectedly.
Life becomes fun
Life becomes fun with laughter and joy as you know you are able to deal with life and what it brings you. You have the headspace, energy, presence and desire to be with your family, friends and colleagues that support you in life, that are loving, kind, compassionate and non-judgemental.
When you are able to make considered decisions in all aspects of your life, you gain in integrity, trust and respect. You are in the best place to be able to respond to daily choices. Furthermore, you are able to make informed decisions about whether you want to do something or not without feeling guilty. You are in tune with yourself meaning what you say and do will be congruent. This creates a high level of trust, reliability and respect.
This, in turn, makes you feel more confident and more productive at home or at work. You will be more efficient and effective in all that you do.
Your life becomes effortless
Now, that is what being present in your life can do for you. This feeling of peace and calm will eventually flow into all areas of your life to create harmony and a zest for life. Your life becomes effortless with a beautiful natural flow. You wake up in the morning excited about your day ahead knowing that no matter what it brings you, you can handle it by remaining present.
