obey rules

if you obey all the rules you miss all the fun
katherin hepburn

Love this quote, in particular, ‘obey rules’. Hit the spot about what rules do I still hang onto and hold me back from having fun. This meditation is to get you thinking about what rules you are still obeying and that are no longer serving a purpose for you. It is difficult to not get in touch with them, but it is also difficult to let them go.

This is a start to see what you can do this week, no matter how small, to start making changes and letting go of parental and even generational traditions and long held values.

We all know rules are important to keep us safe, to create order and stability. However, there are rules that have been imposed on us by our parents and the way things were. These very same rules can keep us from living our lives to the fullest. They keep us small and from stepping out from behind this facade.

When listening to this audio allow yourself to hear the rules. For example: ‘this is how it is done, should be done, I am not supposed.’

Only you can make the necessary changes and set the rules for yourself. It takes time. And it what can hold us back is feeling loyal to our family of origin.

Love you to post in the comments what you want to do this week to break any rule – self-imposed or not. Mine is to not do something I normally do each week. I am going to do it differently.
