When you can let go and let be, it truly helps you live in the moment and capture so many precious moments. It liberates you to feel free and dance like a beautiful butterfly. There is something magical about a butterfly and its symbolism that we all love, no matter our age. Despite only having a short life-span they bring so much pleasure to the world. A reminder of how life is short and we need to enjoy as much of it as possible. And this isn’t always easy when life brings up challenges.

How does a butterfly relate to ways of letting go?

When I started thinking about writing this blog, butterflies didn’t even come into it. However, my partner took this wonderful photo of a butterfly which sung to me. It reminded me of how easy it is to be blind to all the beauty around us because we are so caught up in our daily lives. They are such divine creatures as we are. And a reminder of our spiritual presence, beauty, creativity, vibrancy, the wonder of life, vitality and our continual transformation in life. When we let go we connect to our divine.

These ways of letting go will help you release and transform

They will give you a sense of joy, vibrancy and the ability to experience the beauty of you and your life.

  1. Take quiet time for yourself
    It is so important to take time for yourself and get away from all the noise and busyness of your life. Create your own sacred space where you can either sit quietly, go for a walk or swim, or do something that gets you away to be with your precious self. It is only in quiet contemplation do you connect to your divine self. And you begin to see hear your inner chatter and what you need to let go of, such as old beliefs, long-held perceptions that are no longer valid or true.
  2. Accept Change
    There is always going to be change in your life. It is so easy to hold on tight out of fear of the unknown. When we restrict ourselves we miss on so many opportunities and precious moments. It is about rolling with the punches, working through them and accepting what is to come out transformed.
  3. Love yourself
    I am sure the thought of this makes you squirm and feel uncomfortable. Trust me I know that feeling. It takes courage to open your heart to love and being loved, particularly when you have been hurt. Most of us stop ourselves from feeling loveable, beautiful and special, like a butterfly.   4. Let go and let be
    This takes us into forgiveness. When we can let go of hurt, pain, anger, resentment, and jealousy, we release ourselves to feel free and above all, liberated. Then you will truly dance like a butterfly as you no longer feel weighed down by the heaviness of it all. Something I was taught years ago when I was struggling with this, was to say ‘so what’. It is that simple. ‘So what.’ It wasn’t easy at first. However, it cuts to the chase. Because really it is so what.
  5. Apologise
    This is a big one for so many of us. When we take responsibility for our own actions and make amends where appropriate, it is so freeing. Again, you can let go and release yourself from the weight of holding on to grievances, either towards yourself or towards others. It is such a waste of time and energy. Instead of dancing like a butterfly, you have dead weights as dancing shoes. Start now.

This is just a start.

There are so many ways of letting go. Only you can know what will work best for you. However, I wanted to get you on your way as I know how freeing it has been for me and life transforming. Each day I feel more and more like a beautiful butterfly. I trust you will, too.
