If you need to keep quiet do that.

If you don't want to answer messages, don't.

If you can change appointments, do.

Say no, if you want to.

Above all say yes to yourself and be gentle.
Something to quieten your mind as you end the week Something to quieten your mind as you end the week. Do this regularly to get renewed energy and clarity of thought.
When you are not present, you are all over the pla When you are not present, you are all over the place. When you are present and participating in life amazing things happen.

Happening right now as I take another leap of faith and finally step into the full light of letting go of doubt and hesitation.

Take a moment to think of where you are not being present. Take a beautiful breath in and release with a sigh to bring you back into the moment.

Freedom comes in all sorts of ways. Big and small. Freedom comes in all sorts of ways. Big and small.

Today I am celebrating submitting my last unit in becoming a counsellor and I am feeling so relieved and free.

Free to create again. Having fun buying watercolour paper.

Free to not feeling so obligated, despite loving the learning and consolidating years if experience.

Free to flow through the day without this constant of 'I should be' studying.

Free to focus on welcoming new clients into my practice to help them to feel free, too. 

Free from social norms. Doing the right thing. Pleasing others. Putting themselves last. Not fully leading their lives on their terms.

This last year gave me this gift of freedom that has opened me life in the most unexpected, divine and creative way.

When you have that moment of recognition after lis When you have that moment of recognition after listening to a podcast that you no longer people-please.

It has taken a long time to get to this place of freedom of being able to yes because you want to do something and no when you don't.

There were a few steps forward and many back as it is a tough habit to break as you don't want to upset anyone, be rejected, abandoned and judged as selfish and go against social norms.

In addition, because I was always vocal and seen as expressing how I feel and independent in what I do, it was tough to identify that I had this within me. It was a contradiction in terms and I felt a lot shame around this.

I didn't do this on my own. I did have support over the years from counsellors and mentors for both my personal and business lives as it spilt over into how I ran my businesses - not with many boundaries to start with.

I am sitting here writing this with a big smile on my face and love in my heart. πŸ’šπŸ’œπŸ₯°

With the loss of my business mentor, I realised I With the loss of my business mentor, I realised I have lost incredible support in my life.

He helped me in so many ways to cope as I navigated my way through running a business (practical) and with my mental health (emotional) issues when needed.

Looking back now I realise his role was helping me develop as a person, giving me guidance and moral support when I needed it, to keep me curious about learning and keep going when I felt stuck or wanted to give up.

Now I can see how this has shaped me in becoming a confidence mentor and soon to be counsellor to support women as I was supported.

Some of the things he helped me open up to:

πŸ’š exploring and developing ideas
πŸ’š reflecting on past performance and seeing how far I had come
πŸ’š identifying my strengths and limitations
πŸ’š learning from mistakes
πŸ’š helping me thing big and creatively
πŸ’š question and challenge any assumptions I was making
πŸ’š seeing my future and what I could achieve
