There is always a sense of well-being when spring finally arrives. All winter, you have hibernated and hidden away to keep warm. Now you are ready to step out again and inhale the delights of spring. There is a freshness you want to experience again after being more sedentary all through the cold period. All you want to do is through open the windows and let the sun shine into all corners of your home and mind. Light is clearing the recesses of our body, mind, and soul.

ways to connect to the joys of spring

mindful living

There is mindful living. What I mean by this is taking the time to be mindful in all that you do. And something wonderful to start you off with is taking walks in nature and inhaling the deliciously fresh air. Take the time to observe the kaleidoscope of colour, the beautiful blossoms and the gentle breeze on your skin. It changes your mood and makes you want to smile and feel renewed. You will find this will also clear the cobwebs from your mind and change your thinking. In winter, you close off and shut down to keep warm and cosy. This can affect your thoughts and outlook on life. It can reflect how you are feeling. Work with what feels right for you. Spring can be literal or metaphorical.

Another perfect way to bring the joys of spring into you life is using essential oils. Mindfully enjoy their scent as you add them to water in a spray bottle and mist your home. Remember to mist in all the corners to clear away stuck energy. Add them in your diffuser or burner to have the delicious aroma in your home for a few hours to feel uplifted, energised and inspired. Put a few drops in your laundry and vacuum cleaner. You can never really have enough. I recommended using the following essential oils: bergamot, lemon, sweet orange, eucalyptus, lemongrass, peppermint or lime. Allow your creativity to be renewed and come to life in the space around you.

And another is to prepare your skin for summer bringing it out of hibernation to wear your bright lipsticks. My favourite colour is hot pink. It takes only 4 steps to feel your skin come alive: cleanse, exfoliate, mist and moisturise. Come back to connecting to your mindful beauty ritual. do things outside

It is always such a pleasure to be able to do things outside that you would normally do inside. My partner and I love eating al fresco overlooking the valley. There is a sense of expansion and freedom. As I love reading, I will often take my novel and sit in the garden feeling the gentle breeze on my skin eating an icecream. When I am wanting to be creative on my business, I sit at our outdoor table with my laptop, blank paper and colourful pens. It is amazing what wonderful ideas come to mind. Your options are endless.
